TopSecret Chat ("We", "Our", "Us") operates under the umbrella of the organisation Bona Fide NGO that is engaged in social impact missions.
We provide a highly confidential instant-messaging system to users worlwide ("Services") implementing state-of-the-art security. All communications are secured with End-To-End and Multi-Layer encryption. Your messages are processed in a Confidential Computing private memory enclave so that content can never be accessed, monitored, inspected, analysed, shared, viewed, modified or being traced by anyone but yourself and the intended recipient(s).
TopSecret Chat respects your personal privacy rights and we do not, as a rule, collect personal information of any kind unless provided by you.
An account is created when you signup with your "hashtag" (eg. #MyHashtag), name/nickname and password. You can optionally provide your email address and mobile phone number that are kept hidden by default but you can change the visibility at anytime. A default profile picture is creates when you register and you can update this picture at anytime. You can also provide the name of the Organisation you are registering.
An hashtag is a unique and anonymous identifier. This hashtag can be shared with others to identify you anonymously, or users can find you by searching for you by your hashtag, name/nickname, organisation name (if applicable), email address and mobile phone number, should you decide to make your contact details visible and your profile indexed.
All account's details are stored highly encrypted. The password is additionally stored using a one-way encryption mechanism, so that it cannot be decrypted/recovered but verified only.
Messages are never stored on your device or on our servers, not even temporarily. Messages are queued in our servers using End-To-End encrypted memory enclaves for delivery purpose in a real-world network. Messages have a set lifespan of 30 days after which they cease to exist and cannot be retrieved by anybody, with no exception.
Additional technical information is stored on our servers, including randomly generated tokens and other material that is necessary to transmit messages. We limit this additional technical information to the minimum required to operate the services.
Calls are never stored on your device or on our servers, not even temporarily. When technically possible, calls are always established directly between the users without passing through our servers. Otherwise, calls are connected through our servers only and exclusivelly if a direct communication cannot be established between the users.

TopSecret Chat never accesses the contacts on your device, via social-media discovery or any other way - ever.
The connections that you establish while using the services are never shared with anybody and you can delete them at any time.
If you decide to subscribe our newsletter, your email address will be stored as encrypted, never linked to your TopSecret Chat account and never shared with third-parties. You can unsubscribe to our newsletter at any time.
If you contact us, any personal information that you provide will be treated with the highest standard of security and confidentiality, strictly in accordance with the principles of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The data provided will be used only for the purposes of researching the issue and contacting you about your case.
You can update your email, pasword, profile picture and/or organisation name at any time. You can change your hashtag and name/nickname only once every 30 days.
TopSecret Chat never access, store, track or share your location. Only you can share your location with other users as part of the feature of the service.
We use only essential cookies that are strictly necessary to provide the services. Cookies must be enabled for the services to function.
TopSecret Chat does not collect, process, or store any analytical information based on personal data.
Notifications are used only as an anonymous signalling system and they never contain messages or personal information. Notifications must be enabled for the services to function.
SMS (Short Message Service) may be used to send an anonymous OTC (One-Time-Code) for verification, should you decide to authenticate your account using your mobile phone number. SMS never contain messages or personal information and they are processed in partnership with Vonage. Vonage has an extensive Privacy Policy, please read their policy statements.
Donations are never linked to any account and they can be anonymous. They are processed in partnership with Donorbox. Donorbox has an extensive Privacy Policy, please read their policy statements.
We may update this Privacy Policy as needed so that it is current, accurate, and as clear as possible. Your continued use of the services confirms your acceptance of our updated Privacy Policy.
